President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga has received today the directress of the Peace Corps, Carrie Hessler-Radelet, who was accompanied by the US ambassador to Pristina, Tracey Ann Jacobson.
On this occasion, Jahjaga has expressed her gratitude for the decision of the American Peace Corps to expand the program of its voluntaries in the Republic of Kosovo, thus making Kosovo the 140 country in the world where this organization operates.
During this meeting, president Jahjaga has praised the successful finalization of the intensive training program where 25 young American voluntaries learned about the culture and tradition of Kosovo and underwent intensive course on local languages and also followed technical trainings.
She said that the contribution of these voluntaries is very significant for those countries where they will work directly with school children, but also to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
On her part, Ms. Radelet thanked president Jahjaga, the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the citizens of the country for the warm reception made to the Peace Corpus and 25 American voluntaries who have been stationed in many cities of Kosovo. /ibna/
