Jahjaga: Fight against religious extremism is a priority

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga has received today the general attorney, Syle Hoxha, whom she initially congratulated on his duty, stressing the importance of his work as head of such key institution.

Expressing her support for the general attorney, president Jahjaga emphasized the extraordinary role that this institution has in the fight against organized crime and corruption and in securing the rule of law throughout Kosovo.

According to a press statement, president Jahjaga said that fight against extremism and radicalism is a priority for all institutions of the country and the engagement of the general attorney in this aspect is vital in providing stability and security in the country.

“President Jahjaga and the general attorney discussed on the work of this institution, its challenges and the advancement and professionalism of this institution. After thanking president Jahjaga for the support given to the General Attorney, general attorney Hoxha said that this institution will do its job by offering results. He said that the general attorney office is an important instance of the mechanisms of security in Kosovo and said that this institution need to increase the number of prosecutors in order to improve the efficiency of the work of this institution”, reads the press statement.

Last week, Jahjaga met with heads of other security agencies with which she discussed the same topic. /ibna/
