President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga has demanded from the president of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev to back Kosovo in the process of Euro Atlantic integration.
In a news conference, Jahjaga said that with the Bulgarian counterpart Plevneliev, she talked about the intensification of cooperation between the two countries.
“Today, I have the honor to receive a Bulgarian president for the first time. We talked about many joint topics. Kosovo and Bulgaria share a long journey of cooperation. Kosovo is interested on having cooperation, especially in economy and investments”, said the president.
Jahjaga also thanked Bulgarian peacekeeping troops that have served in Kosovo.
“Bulgaria was one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo as an independent country. Kosovo thanks Bulgarian men and women who served in Kosovo for the preservation of peace”, Jahjaga said.
Meanwhile, the Bulgarian president, Plevneliev said that Kosovo and Serbia must improve relations between them.
Plevneliev is staying in Kosovo upon the invitation of president Jahjaga. Today he will also meet with speaker of parliament, Kadri Veseli. /ibna/
