Macedonian president, George Ivanov has decided to abrogate a part of the amnesty, by withdrawing the decision to pardon 22 political figures out of a total of 56 figures for whom he granted amnesty on 12 April.

“I granted the amnesty for the best interest of the state and the citizens of Macedonia. Many people didn’t understand this idea. I was accused of wanting to defend politicians and for creating selective justice. I would like to assure everyone that I have not had such intention”, Ivanov said.

Ivanov didn’t specify the 22 people which no longer benefit this amnesty.

However, today’s decision by Ivanov doesn’t meet the request of the international and domestic community, as he’s demanded to abrogate all of the amnesty which was granted on 12 April.

This decision caused protests, which turned into the “Multi-colored Revolution”, which as of 12 April continues in many cities of the country. /balkaneu.com/
