President of FYR Macedonia, George Ivanov, declared in a speech before the nation that a war is being led against the country and that the Special Prosecution is making selective justice. Ivanov said that his decision to grant an amnesty for politicians aimed at easing tension and encouraging political reconciliation, following a dangerous situation that FYROM was going through.
“My decision aimed at protecting state interests, following the threats that existed and I have prevented an internal clash of the Macedonian people”, Ivanov said.
Ivanov also addressed accusations against political leaders who according to him, are part of destructive scenarios. In this aspect, he accused the leader of opposition, Zoran Zaev and the leader of BDI, which doesn’t recognize him as president.
As far as the Special Prosecution is concerned, he said that this institution is making selective justice.
Ivanov’s speech follows a non-confidence vote in the parliament of the country. /balkaneu.com/
