Macedonian president, George Ivanov, participated last evening in the reception hosted by the US president, Barack Obama in New York for the heads of delegations of the General Assembly of the UN.
Ivanov declared that president Obama confirmed the support of the USA for the priorities of FYROM and its accession in the NATO.
“The reception traditionally hosted by the US president in honor of the UN General Assembly heads of delegations is an opportunity to meet friends in the UN and for small meetings with president Obama. I took this opportunity to have a short conversation with Mr. Obama in order to demand him support for the accession of the Republic of Macedonia in the NATO. He replied by saying that America will continue to help Macedonia, especially in its NATO accession”, declared president Ivanov.
President Ivanov warned that he has also met with a large number of state leaders, among which great supporters of European Atlantic integration of the country. Ivanov also said that these meetings have underscored the readiness and cooperation for the recent challenges of global security and fight against terrorism. /ibna/
