President George Ivanov has met today with a number of ambassadors of the most important countries accredited to Skopje, to inform them on the events taken place in Kumanovo.
Present in this meeting were Jess Baily, US ambassador, Aivo Orav, head of the EU delegation, Mariane Bretz, head of OSCE to Skopje, Rumen Radev, head of the NATO liaison office and ambassador of Turkey, Omur Sholebdil.
In this meeting, Ivanov informed the ambassadors about last evening’s meeting of the Security Council and the participants shared their opinions on the latest developments in Kumanovo and the security situation in the country.
President Obanov has also underlined that concrete guidelines have been given for adequate action of all institutions in the security system, in order not to allow the escalation of the situation in tension and destabilization.
In this context, president Ivanov has once again stressed the need for support by the international community for FYROM and the stability of the entire region.
He demanded maximum efforts in order to unblock Euro Atlantic integration processes.
“The latest political events in the country are also a result of the long status quo in relation to Euro Atlantic integration, which leaves room for different attempts to cause destabilization. This is why progress must be made in this aspect”, said Ivanov. /ibna/
