Macedonian president, George Ivanov declared today that the country’s army will join police in order to cope with the wave of illegal emigrants on the border with Greece.
Ivanov declared this during a visit in the Borogodica border crossing point with Greece.
Ivanov was briefed on the activities of police on field and their efforts to cope with the large numbers of emigrants.
“As president of the country, I must hold activities in order to engage the army to assist police in facing these challenges and the large numbers of emigrants. The army will be engaged in securing the border line with Greece and also the border line with Serbia in the north”, Ivanov outlined, adding that all measures which are being taken are in compliance with the measures being taken by the European Union. /ibna/
