President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga was received today in Rome by the acting president of the Republic of Italy, Pietro Grasso, with which she discussed relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Italy.
The two personalities also discussed on the general developments in Kosovo and in the region and also the reforms that Kosovo is delivering in the framework of its European integration.
President Jahjaga praised the assistance that Italy has offered and continues to offer to Kosovo through KFOR and EULEX.
The president also stressed the need of boosting relations between the two countries and intensifying economic exchanges.
The acting Italian president, Pietro Grasso said that Italy will continue to lobby for Kosovo and that it supports Kosovo’s European perspective. President Grasso said that Kosovo and Italy must work together in expanding economic bilateral relations.
He said that the West Balkan has a strategic importance for Italy.
President Jahjaga also held a meeting with the president of the Italian parliament, Laura Boldrini.
The meeting discussed the intensification of relations between Kosovo and Italy. President Boldrini said that the future of Kosovo is in the European Union and that Italy will be a great supporter in this path. /ibna/
