The speaker of the parliament of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, received today in a meeting the Latvian Foreign Minister, Edgars Rinkevics, to talk about the current developments in Kosovo and the relations between the two countries.

Speaker of parliament, Veseli thanked the Latvian minister for the engagement of his government to help Kosovo and the fact that excellent relations of collaboration are being developed between the two countries.

Veseli considered the Latvian parliamentary experience as precious for Kosovo and its path in the process of European integration.

The speaker of the parliament of Kosovo said that Kosovo must be given an opportunity to overcome the current situation which is a direct result of the lack of the liberalization of visas.

“Of course, liberalization of visas doesn’t resolve the basic issues of integration, but it’s a clear signal for the secure perspective of our country to become part of the EU”, said speaker Veseli.

Meanwhile, the Latvian minister, Rinkevics, stressed the need to further cultivate cooperation between the two countries, pushing forward parliamentary relations.

The minister expressed the commitment of the Latvian government to help Kosovo in its European agenda. /ibna/
