Albanians must learn from FYR Macedonia, the exports of which are greater than Albania and Kosovo together. Kosovo must also learn by its neighbor how to motivate foreign investors, especially European ones and increase exports.

These advices and suggestions are given by Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (KCC), which says that investors who have left Kosovo have seen a huge success in neighboring FYROM.

“While Kosovo wastes time looking for the reasons of failures, others find ways to achieve their objectives of economic development. We must learn from the others and the experiences of the others in this aspect, while the approach of Macedonia must be analyzed by all of them”, says Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.

Southern neighbor of Kosovo has exported from January to May of this year goods amounting to 1.45 billion Euros, while Albania has only exported 770.118 million Euros and Kosovo 113.864 million Euros.

The industrial areas in the east of Skopje alone, exported over 550 million Euros from January to May 2014 and this is two times higher than exports during the same period of 2013.

Since 2009, the German producer of electronic equipment for cars, “Draexlmaier Automotive Electronics” has been producing in these two areas. In 2008, this company had attempted to be installed in the area of Pristina-Fushe Kosovo and this would initially employ 100 people and then 500 people.

But, after three months of efforts, the German producer gave up and moved to FYROM. In June this year, owners of the German company said they were going to open the second line of production this year and until the end of the year, the number of employees was going to be increased from 4300 to 4900, with average salaries that are paid on a national level.

“The same German company also has two production lines in Serbia, because there too, the same as in Macedonia, it has found a common language and interest to produce”, says Kosovo Chamber of Commerce. /ibna/
