Interpol has suspended Kosovo’s application for accession, along with the application made by Solomon Islands and Palestine.
In today’s press release, Interpol says that an advisor was appointed to make recommendations for the admission of new members. The study of this advisor will be submitted to the Interpol’s General Assembly next year in Beijing, China.
Kosovo is not yet an Interpol member and as such, it cannot request the abrogation of the arrest warrants issued by Serbia, which authorities in Kosovo have considered as politically motivated.
The reason why Kosovo has not been accepted as a member of Interpol and Europol relates to the fact that Kosovo has not recognized by at least two thirds of the members of these two international institutions. /balkaneu.com/
