Late last night, Kosovo’s president, Hashim Thaci held a meeting with leader of the opposition party, LDK, Isa Mustafa. The meeting followed a message issued by the two senior US officials, John Erath and Brad Berkley who urged all political parties in Kosovo to be involved in the process of reaching an agreement with Serbia and for the tax on Serbian imports to be scrapped.
Meanwhile, IBNA also learns that in the days to come, LDK may become part of the process of talks. On the other hand, there may also be a government reshuffle in order to make this opposition party part of the cabinet.
Recently, the US has intensified its efforts for the normalization of relations between the two countries. US representatives in Pristina and Belgrade say that a deal should be reached between Kosovo and Serbia by the end of this year. Kosovo’s PM, Ramush Haradinaj says that he’s in favour of an agreement which does not threaten Kosovo’s territorial integrity. /ibna/
