The team of international experts appointed by the president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has not found any breaches in the process of the border demarcation between Kosovo and Montenegro.

The ad hoc commission, which has three foreign members, said that the border line with Montenegro is in order and doesn’t damage Kosovo’s territorial integrity.

“Demarcation with Montenegro is in order and as a result, Kosovo’s territorial integrity is not damaged”, declared the US expert for demarcation Fletcher Burton.

He said that the process of demarcation had “a very strong legal basis”.

“We have found that in the legal aspect, the work of the Kosovo State Commission for the Border Demarcation with Montenegro has been legitimate”, Burton said.

As far as this is concerned, president of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga demands political parties in Kosovo to take into account the evaluation made by the commission in question.

“From the legal and technical aspect, international experts have not found any breaches and according to them, the process complied with all rules”, Jahjaga said.

Opposition parties, Self Determination, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and Incentive for Kosovo have reacted following the findings of the international commission on demarcation.

According to them, the international commission has done the same work as the previous state commission and for the opposition, this is unacceptable.

“Since the creation of the new commission for demarcation with Montenegro, united opposition has expressed its skepticism and its refusal, because this commission didn’t have any domestic experts and on the other hand, it followed the same work method as the previous commission. Therefore, it was impossible for this commission to yield different results from t he previous commission”, the opposition declared.

Representatives of the residents of the border area with Montenegro also consider the assessment of the foreign experts on demarcation as unacceptable.

Ali Lajci, representative of the community of Rugova, said immediately after the declarations made by foreign experts that this commission is a farce and has “political objectives”. /ibna/
