Greek industrial production grew 1.6 pct in June, with manufacturing production rising 2.8 pct in the month, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Tuesday. The statistics service in a monthly report said that the industrial production composite index grew 1.6 pct in June compared with the same month last year, after an 8.1 pct increased recorded in the 2016/2015 period.
This increase was attributed to a 2.8 pct rise in manufacturing production (reflecting a 15.6 pct jump in tobacco production, a 22.6 pct rise in oil production, a 12.6 pct increase in pharmaceuticals and a 24.4 pct increase in vehicles). Electricity production rose 0.1 pct in June, while mining production fell 3.5 pct and water production fell 7.1 pct.
The average industrial production index grew 6.0 pct in the first half of 2017 compared with the same period last year./IBNA
