Minister of Environment and Environmental Planning (MEEP), Dardan Gashi has received today in a meeting the two mayors of Mitrovica, that of northern Mitrovica, Goran Rakic and southern Mitrovica, Agim Bahtiri and representatives from the US embassy and EU office.
According to a press statement issued by MEEP, in this meeting, minister Gashi said that he was ready to collaborate with the two mayors.
“He expressed the readiness of the government of Kosovo to closely collaborate with the two mayors of Mitrovica in all aspects for the normalization of cross ethnic relations, investments in these two communes and implementation of laws in respective domains”, reads the MEEP press statement.
The topics that were discussed related to the safe return of the citizens in both parts of the city, the construction and reconstruction of homes, where it was stressed that the restriction on constructions in the south and north of the city are still in place.
The participants agreed on continuing their meetings in order to find joint solutions. /ibna/
