“I Love Visa” is one of the motto of the Dokufest festival, which is expected to launch its new edition this Saturday at 8 pm in Prizren.
Although in an ironic way, the message goes once again for the institutions, which must work in order to enable the liberalization of visas.
According to the artistic director of Dokufest, Veton Nurkollari, the festival will present 228 films from 43 countries in 6 competitive programs and a number of special programs.
He also expressed his satisfaction for the record number of applications for this year’s edition, which amounts to 3000.
“In my opinion, the festival’s program is one of the best programs that we have managed to achieve during the history of the festival. This year we have world premiers, prominent names of cinematography and we have the winners of the main world festivals. We will also show the film that won the Oscar and the best short European film in the framework of the cooperation with the European Academy of Film”, Nurkolarri said.
The 14th edition of Dokufest brings this year a number of panels, debates and different activities which will enrich the program of this festival.
Erol Bilbani from Dokufest comments on this.
“This year, we will have three different debates on the topic of migration. One panel will talk about migration as a global phenomenon, the other about the local context that we have, while the third one about the need for legislative changes which will tackle migration as a good opportunity to open new jobs”, Bilbani said among others. /ibna/
