Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj has been received by EU ambassadors accredited to Kosovo, with which he has discussed on the political developments in the country.
In his speech, Hoxhaj has briefed the EU ambassadors about the political developments of recent months and in particular the Berlin Conference, the European integration process of Kosovo stopping at the Stabilization and Association Agreement and the objective to sign it during the Italian EU chairmanship.
Minister Hoxhaj said that the Berlin Conference marks a new milestone in the relations between the EU and Western Balkan and it’s an example of how Kosovo must be treated as an independent and equal state to the other states in the region.
According to Hoxhaj, Kosovo remains committed in delivering all obligations and international engagements, stopping at the talks with Serbia and the good news received a few days ago for the integrated border management agreement.
The Kosovar head of diplomacy expressed in front of ambassadors the readiness of the institutions to continue with the joint efforts in the fight against extremism and terrorism, while he has expressed the need for the country to become a member of Interpol and directly cooperate with Europol.
EU ambassadors have been informed by minister Hoxhaj for his participation and the participation of president Jahjaga in the proceedings of the UNO General Assembly and the application of Kosovo to become a member of the European Council this year.
European ambassadors have commented and addressed a number of questions for minister Hoxhaj in relation to different political internal and external issues. /ibna/
