Albanian president, Ilir Meta has declared from the Southeast Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) summit which is taking place in Bosnia, that the integration of Western Balkans is a priority for the EU.
In a message on Twitter, Meta says that we remain committed and hopeful that in October ,the EU Council will decide to open accession negotiations for Albania.
“Progress in the EU integration process of all Western Balkan countries is of the essence. We remain committed and hopeful that in October ,the EU Council will decide to open accession negotiations for Albania and for North Macedonia. We are grateful to the Chancellor Angela Merkel’s vision, reiterated also in the last Summit in Poznan, that presenting Balkan states with the opportunity to join the EU is in the bloc’s strategic interest”, Meta wrote on Twitter. /ibna/
