Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, has held a meeting with Juliusz Janusz, apostolic delegate of the Vatican for the Republic of Kosovo.
The meeting discussed a number of issues concerning relations between Kosovo and the Holy See.
“Evoking the history of these relations, speaker Veseli said that Albanians are the only people in the Balkan, who have kept catholic Christendom alive, in spite of the great difficulties and in difficult moments for our people, the Holly See has supported Kosovo, especially in the ’90 under the leadership of Pope John Paul the Second”, the statement says.
On his part, the Vatican representative, Janusz, said that the Holly See recognizes the new reality in Kosovo and supports the positive developments in the country.
“In this context, he added that Vatican follows the developments in Kosovo, which has a great potential for development, about the fact t hat it has a young population”, Janusz said.
