A few minutes after the polls closed in the referendum Greece announced on Monday that the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande will meet in Paris to discuss and make decisions on the Greek issue.

As Paris announced, the French president and the German chancellor will have a meeting at 19.30 (Greece time) after which she will have a working dinner to assess the consequences of the referendum in Greece.

“The meeting is part of the ongoing cooperation between France and Germany, in order to find a sustainable solution for Greece,” the statement says.

The German government spokesman, Steffen Seibert, also said that the Merkel-Hollande meeting will be held Monday, so that the two leaders will have a “joint assessment” with regard to the situation that will be formed after the result of the referendum on the proposals of the Institutions, noting that the meeting will also focus on the “continuation of the close French-German cooperation on the issue”.
