A touching snapshot featuring a Greek grandmother and two refugee children in Idomeni shows that love and solidarity should not have borders, while Europe raises fences to persecuted refugees.
With this touching video ended the satirical television show “Ellinofreneia” on Tuesday night.
As shown, a grandmother gives some bread and cheese to two refugee children, who have found accommodation at her village, through the railing of the door of her courtyard. “Have you eaten your bread? I will give you another”, says the old lady, “Oh you…” says the child, smiling at him the grandmother then weeps, with the child wiping the tears from her eyes giving her a tissue.
As if suddenly realizing the tragedy of the circumstance, the old lady and the child cry together.
One of the dozens scenes that are far from the spotlight, but which show the greatness of the human soul, away from interests, racisms and xenophobia.
