Former head of secret services in FYROM arrested

During the weekend, Macedonian police arrested the former head of the Directorate for Security and Counterintelligence, Zoran Verusevski.

After the arrest, Ministry of Interior said that the former head of secret services is suspected of different criminal offenses, such as possession of weapons and child pornography. Verusevski was immediately remanded into custody. The Ministry of Interior said that during the search of his house in Skopje and Ohrid, authorities found suspicious materials.

But, one of the facts mentioned in the investigation is that child pornography was found in one of the personal computers. “Specialized inspectors are working in order to examine the materials and there will soon be other details as to who have filmed these footage”, said the ministry of Interior.

Zoran Verusevski has led the secret services from 2003. During his term in office, he faced many problems relating to his son, which had committed a number offenses. /ibna/
