The EU head of diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, has started today her agenda of meetings in the framework of the talks between Kosovo and Serbia.
Mogherini held her first meeting with PM Isa Mustafa and a little later, she’s expected to meet with the Serb PM, Aleksandar Vucic.
These separate meetings will give way to a joint meeting, which may result in the signing of four new agreements between Kosovo and Serbia.
PM Isa Mustafa made promising comments today about the talks.
Mustafa said that yesterday there were technical talks on energy, free movement on Iber river bridge and the principles for the foundation of the Association of Serb Communes.
Mustafa said that progress has been made, while saying that “there are several topics which will be discussed today between the two prime ministers”.
“The agreements that may be achieved are in the best interest of the country and the European and Euro Atlantic integration”, Mustafa said.
According to him, the issue of energy, association of communes, country telephone code and free movement on the Iber river bridge, have been discussed for many years.
“The fact that independence of Kosovo has not been recognized by all countries, is convenient for all of those who live with the past, but I believe that time has come to give up on this mentality”, Mustafa said.
Meanwhile, Serb PM Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia will not make any concessions that will affect the interests of Serbs.
“We have come to Brussels to talk, but we will not accept what’s in open violation with the interests of our republic and the Serbs in Kosovo. We don’t know if the other side is ready to talk”, PM Vucic said. /ibna/
