The only presidential candidate, Iljaz Halimi from the Albanian Democratic Party (PDSH) said today that Albanians must not boycott the elections.
With this, he has reacted against the campaign of the opposing Albanian party, Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) for a boycott to the presidential elections as a result of the fact that its idea for a consensual president was not accepted.
In his appeal, Halimi stressed that Albanians must not heed the calls of BDI to boycott the elections.
“I call upon Albanians not to heed the calls for boycott and to participate in the April 13 elections to vote the only Albanian presidential candidate. These calls must not be heard and the will of the free vote must be respected. Therefore, let us vote for change and for a new page in the Albanian politics, by factorizing Albanians”, said Halimi.
He demanded for his candidacy to be voted not only by Albanians, but also by other communities and that he would be the president of all citizens.
Meanwhile, BDI continues its campaign under the motto “No unilateral president”, where it demands for Albanians to boycott the elections and for Macedonian parties to accept the idea that in the future, the country must have a consensual president, backed by Albanians and Macedonians. /ibna/
