EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn is expected to arrive to Skopje on Friday to assess the process of the implementation of the political agreement and the solution of the political crisis. The EU office has released a statement where Mr. Hahn’s spokeswoman, Maja Kocijancic confirmed his arrival to Skopje.
“The EU commissioner Johannes Hahn will visit Skopje on 15 June. He will talk with all sides about the implementation of the agreement”, said Kocijancic.
Ahead of the New Year, Hahn sent a letter to the four leaders of the largest political parties in FYROM (BDI, PDSH, VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM) that he is planning a visit to FYROM at the start of this month, in order to monitor the implementation of the Przino agreement.
Meanwhile, today, three MEPs are expected to arrive in Skopje, Eduard Kukan, Ivo Vajgl and Richard Howitt. They will talk about the situation in the country and the political situation before Hahn’s arrival. These visits will take place at a time when until January 15, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski is expected to resign and a new interim prime minister is expected to be appointed until the holding of the new elections. /ibna/
