According to an opinion poll published by the International Republican Institute (IRI), VMRO-DPMNE led by Nikola Gruevski continues to be the party which has the largest number of supporters in FYROM. Meanwhile, in the Albanian political camp, the poll suggests that BESA Movement, as a new political party, now has the same number of supporters as BDI (Democratic Union for Integration).
According to IRI, if the elections were to be held tomorrow, 27% of people would have voted for VMRO-DPMNE, 17% would have voted for SDSM (Macedonian Social Democratic Union). Meanwhile, 7% would vote for BDI and 7% for Besa Movement. On the other hand, 2% would vote for the Alliance for Albanians led by Ziadin Sela and 2% for Democratic Party of Albanians.
Meanwhile, 45% of respondents have said that the biggest problem for the country now is the political crisis, 37% have answered that it’s unemployment, while 23% have mentioned the low standards of living.
As far European integration is concerned, the majority part supports EU integration (72%) and NATO (71%). The opinion poll was carried out from 4 to 12 March of this year and the number of participants was 1.108. /balkaneu.com/
