Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, who is on a visit to Washington, has met with the US vice president, Joe Biden. After the meeting, Mr. Gruevski issued details on the meeting with Mr. Biden.
“We had an excellent and friendly meeting. So far we have made many achievements, but we have also faced many challenges. America is our partner. In 2008 we have signed a declaration for strategic partnership and in many things, we have had serious support from the USA”, declared PM Gruevski.
Gruevski also stopped on the internal developments of the political crisis, by underlining that the meeting also discussed on the political dialogue, economy, security challenges and the country’s accession in the NATO and EU.
“We will continue our cooperation with the USA, in particular about the country’s accession in the NATO and EU. Their support will be very important”, Gruevski said.
Before the meeting with Biden, Gruevski also met with several other US officials.
Meanwhile, three MEPs, Eduard Kukan, Ivo Vajgl and Richard Howitt are staying in Skopje to encourage the implementation of the June 2 agreement, which was reached with the brokerage of the EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn. The latter will arrive to Skopje on Friday to assess the political process in the country ahead of the 24 April elections. /ibna/
