Leader of the biggest Macedonian party, VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski has invited the leader of the biggest opposition party LSDM (Macedonian Social Democratic League), Zoran Zaev for talks.
The invitation has been made through a party communiqué, which says that this would be in the best strategic state interests and NATO and EU perspective of the country.
“VMRO-DPMNE is always ready for talks which serve the interests of the citizens and the state. Our leader, Gruevski, invites the leader of the opposition, Zoran Zaev in a meeting on Friday afternoon, in order to engage in a political dialogue which aims to put an end to the political crisis”, reads VMRO-DPMNE’s communiqué.
But, LSDM’s response was immediate. This party declared that its leader, Zoran Zaev accepts the invitation for a meeting and political talks.
The talks will aim to unblock the political crisis, following the decision of the opposition not to recognize the elections and which led to the resignation of opposition MPs and the request to hold fresh elections through a technical government. But, the success of such talks will depend on how much the majority is willing to accept the requests of the opposition. /ibna/
