With jobless people numbering a total of 1,403,698 individuals Greece hit a new negative record in its unemployment rate in June 2013, reaching at 27,9%, while the same percentage last year was at 24.6%, the Greek Statistics Agency (ELSTAT) announced on Thursday.
As the same source mentioned, the economically inactive, i.e. people who are not working or looking for work fell by 23,155 persons compared with June 2012 (-0.7%) and increased by 14,844 persons compared with May 2013 (+0.4%), reaching 3,334,690 people.
The workforce is estimated at 3,628,421 people, reduced by 128,998 persons compared with June 2012 (-3.4%) and by 2,390 persons compared with May 2013 (-0.1%),
