Greek retail sales decreased by 7.8% in August

The Volume Index in Retail Trade, including fuels, fell by 7.8% in August 2013 compared with last year’s counting, when a decline of 9.3% was recorded in the corresponding comparison of 2012 to 2011, according to the Greek Statistics Authority (ELSTAT).

The Volume Index, excluding fuels, retreated by 9.1% against a decline of 8.8% recorded in the corresponding comparison of 2012 to 2011.

Moreover, the Turnover Index, including fuels, was reduced by 8.9% in annual basis in August, against a decline of 7.3% recorded in the corresponding comparison of 2012 to 2011.

Finally, the Turnover Index, excluding fuels, was reduced by 9.5% against a decline of 8.1% recorded in the corresponding comparison of 2012 to 2011.
