Greek market ends below 1.000 points

 

Athens Stock Exchange ends lower on Thursday, continuing the recent correction, with hefty losses for Eurobank Ergasias [-25%] and Piraeus Bank [-27%] weighing on the overall index.

Rating agency Fitch has noted that the Greek mortgage market shows signs of stabilizing, but the proportion of loans in arrears by more than three months has still increased.

Elsewhere, there are losses for index heavyweights OPAP, Hellenic Petroleum and OTE, these stocks ending down 3.9%, 7.1% and 1.7% respectively.
