Greek industry’s new orders and turnover rate indexes rose in August

An increase by 2.7% was observed in the Greek industry’s new orders in August, while the turnover rate index rose by 1.7%, according to data issued by the Greek Statistics Authority (ELSTAT) on Monday.

In specific, the New Orders Index in Industry (PPI) in August 2013 compared to the corresponding index of August 2012 increased by 2.7%, against a decline of 6.3% recorded in the corresponding comparison of the year 2012 to 2011.

The average general index of the yearly period from September 2012 – August 2013, compared with the same index of the period September 2011 – August 2012, fell by 4.9%, against a decline of 8.2% recorded by comparing the year earlier.

Meanwhile, the General Turnover Index in Industry (PPI) in August 2013 compared to the corresponding index of August 2012 increased by 1.7%, compared with an increase of 2.8% recorded during the similar comparison of 2012 to 2011.

The average general index of the yearly period from September 2012 – August 2013, compared with the same index of the period September 2011 – August 2012, fell by 1.0%, compared with 2.1% achieved by comparing the year earlier.
