Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Kotzias will visit Skopje today for an official visit.

This is the first visit of the head of Greek diplomacy in a decade and this visit is held in the framework of a tour in the Balkan. A year ago, it was the former Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos who visited Skopje, but in the capacity of the head of EU.

Kotzias is traveling to Skopje by car, in an effort to avoid “Alexander the Great” airport, because its name constitutes a provocation.

Kotzias will meet state leaders and opposition leaders, while the main topics that will be discussed include the building of trust, cooperation and the name dispute.

This visit and its messages will be the first test of the left wing PM Alexis Tsipras to FYROM. The visit starts with a meeting with the hosting counterpart, Nikola Poposki, to follow with the deputy PM for European Integration, Fatmir Besimi, PM Nikola Gruevski, president George Ivanov, while during the day, he will also meet with heads of political parties such as Zoran Zaev from SDSM, Ali Ahmeti from BDI and Menduh Thaci of PDSH. /ibna/
