Greek FinMin Dimitris Papadimitriou quits

The Greek government of Alexis Tsipras is moving towards a reshuffle especially so after the latest resignation of the Finance and Development minister, Dimitris Papadinitriou who followed the resignation of his wife and former Alternate Labour Minister, Rania Antonopoulou.

Late on Monday night, Papadimitriou handed in his resignation, which Alexis Tsipras accepted. Both resignations were due to reasons of pride after the issue that came to surface regarding the rent benefit that the former Alternate Labour Minister, mentioned above was getting until yesterday.

Through a press release issued by the Maximos Mansion (the PM’s office) staff, Alexis Tsipras thanked Mr Papadimitriou for his contribution. It is reminded that earlier on, the Greek premier had also thanked R. Antonopoulou for her “three-year important contribution”, too…/IBNA
