Greece will support any decisions made by the Republic of Cyprus and will stand by Nicosia for the achievement of a viable solution of the Cyprus problem which will safeguard national rights, Greek Minister of Defence Panos Kammenos has said.

The Minister, who represents the Greek government at the events marking the anniversary of the Cypriot anti-colonial liberation struggle of 1955-1959, said that today we pay tribute to those who fought for freedom and congratulated the people of Cyprus for exiting the economic adjustment programme, that officially ended Thusday, noting that it is now Greece`s turn to exit the memorandum.

In statements on the sidelines of the official doxology of the day held in Nicosia, Kammenos said that Cyprus` exit means that from now on better days will come for Hellenism.

He also expressed the view that by Easter (Greek Easter in May) Greece will also exit its economic adjustment programme.
