Education Minister Costas Kadis met on Monday in Athens his Greek counterpart Nikos Filis and in statements that followed described the relations between the two Ministries as excellent, thanking at the same time Greece for its long-standing support to Cyprus.
During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed the close and constructive cooperation in issues related to education and discussed, inter alia, the course of implementation of the renewed MoU the two countries signed covering the period 2011-2016, the transfer of Cypriot students between universities in Greece, as well as the reassessment of admission procedures of Cypriot graduates who have one parent with Greek origin.
The two Ministers also touched upon the possibility of exchanging expertise on the issue of computerization of schools, as well as issues of upgrading the Technical Education and Training.
Kadis extended an invitation to his Greek counterpart to visit Cyprus.
The Cypriot Minister attended a working luncheon hosted by the Minister of Culture and Sports Aristides Baltas during which the two Ministers discussed mainly issues related to further strengthening cultural cooperation between Cyprus and Greece.
The Greek Minister accepted an invitation to visit Cyprus to sign a cooperation agreement in the fields of Culture.
