By decision of Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Kotzias, the Ambassador of Greece in Vienna, Ms Aliferi is called back to Athens for consultations, in order to preserve the friendly relations among the countries and peoples of Greece and Austria.

Clearly, the large EU problems can not be overcome with thoughts, attitudes and extra-institutional initiatives that have their origins in the 19th century nor the decisions of heads of state can be replaced by the directives of Police official. The latter is a major problem of democracy. It demonstrates the need to protect the EU from various unschooled in history.

Unilateral initiatives to resolve refugee and violations of international law and the acquis communautaire of the EU Member States are practices that can undermine the foundations and the process of European integration.

The responsibility for dealing with immigration and refugee crisis can not weight only on a single country. Common sense dictates that the effective address of this complex issue should be guided by the principles of solidarity and fair burden sharing. Greece is working towards this direction.
