Greece: PM chairs Gov’t meeting on the impact on the economy and labor relations

A broad meeting under the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the participation of the political leaderships of the Ministries of Finance, Development and Labor, to assess the impact of the Coronation on the economy and labor relations, was held today at the Maximos Mansion.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister called on the Ministers to make a full account of the impact on workers and businesses at each phase of restrictive measures on the spread of the virus, as well as a corresponding plan on the measures to be taken by the State, as the situation has created a completely different economic environment.

This new environment imposes measures on the health and support of workers and businesses which, it has been estimated, impose at European level different rules than those originally provided for by the Stability and Growth Pact or the enhanced surveillance mechanism. The Greek Government will take all the necessary steps, depending on the situation, in order to mitigate the inevitable consequences on the economy and the workers.

The Finance, Development and Labor Ministers will meet again tomorrow to reassess the situation and plan the policies that will be launched in the coming days, taking into account the decisions of the European Central Bank and Eurogroup”./ibna
