The meeting took place in preparation for Dendias’s visit to Turkey on April 14th, at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

Nikos Dendias posted on Twitter that “during the discussion, bilateral relations and regional developments were examined in view of my prospective visit to Turkey on 14/4, if conditions allow.”

According to diplomatic sources by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting Nikos Dendias reiterated the need to refrain from provocative actions. In this context, he pointed out that the announcements made during yesterday’s meeting of the Turkish Security Council do not contribute to consolidating a constructive atmosphere between the two countries.
