The government of Kosovo has officially informed the European Union regarding the unlawful interventions of Serbia in Kosovo and the violation of the Brussels’ Agreement for the normalization of relations.

The letter that the minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri has sent to the EU representative, Fernando Gentilli, states that this violation consists on the continuation of parallel structures in the commune of Shterpca, with the appointment of the unlawful mayor of this commune.

This letter demands the EU to take all measures in order to stop Serbia’s intervention through parallel structures in Kosovo.

Tahiri said that “Serbia has continued to preserve the parallel structures in the northern communes and the government of Kosovo has constantly informed the European Union, including the report on the state of the implementation of the Brussels’ Agreement sent to the EU on October 2014”.

According to the government of Kosovo, Serbia’s actions are destructive and their objective is to overthrow all the achievements of the Brussels’ dialogue for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia and they also threaten peace and stability in the region.

“Serbia’s unlawful interventions in Kosovo have always been negative and have created tension and lack of stability. These actions are not in the spirit of the EU for good neighboring relations and regional stability, on the contrary, they are acts of despair, which aim at preventing democratic legitimacy and the work of the mayors elected based on the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kosovo”, reads the reaction of the government of Kosovo. /ibna/
