Through the Ministry of Transport, government of FYR Macedonia will subsidize airlines to carry out flights to new European destinations.
The Ministry of Transport is preparing the necessary paperwork in order to call a bid for the selection of a low cost airliner which would offer flights to four new destinations from the airport of Skopje, to Spain and Norway and a direct flight from the Ohrid airport to the European metropolis.
In the first half of next year, authorities are also expected to call a bid for the selection of the national airliner.
“We will offer four new destinations from Skopje to Spain and Norway and a destination from Ohrid. We will again subsidize. The value is still to be decided, but we’re thinking about five million Euros in the three coming years. We will enable new lines for the citizens of Macedonia and an increase of the number of passengers”, declared today the minister of Transport, Mile Janakievski. /ibna/
