At the end of this month, an important economic forum for the Balkan region will take place in Vienna. This is an opportunity to unveil regional projects, which expect funding from the EU. But, the Austrian Office of Commerce in Albania, reminds the Albanian government to use this opportunity in order to attract private investments from Austria. According to the heads of this office, the government doesn’t have a clear plan, where it offers opportunities of investments and this has made many Austrian companies reluctant.

But the climate of investments doesn’t seem to be clear even for entrepreneurs who have decided to work in Albania.

One of the Austrian investors in the domain of energy, has been unfairly delayed for six months, according to the representative of this business, thus keeping on hold an investment worth 100 million Euros.

Lately, the Ministry of Energy has reviewed many concessions, but the Austrian Office of Commerce encourages the government to be serious in its evaluation of the projects.

Austria is the third largest investor in Albania, but the investments of this country in Albania are 40 times lower than in FYROM. /ibna/
