Democratic Party of Kosovo and Democratic League of Kosovo have officially signed the joint government agreement.
Based on the general principles of this agreement, the two parties pledge that they will create legitimate, functional and multi-ethnic institutions.
“Aware of the necessity to work together for the economic development of the country, we came to an agreement for a joint government”, reads the text of the agreement signed by the two political parties.
After signing the agreement, leader of PDK, Hashim Thaci said that bearing in mind the interests of the citizens of Kosovo, LDK and PDK are fully committed to implement this agreement and govern the country from 2014 until 2018.
Thaci said that the agreement is rational for the European future of Kosovo. They have not confirmed the posts, but Mustafa is believed that he will be given the post of PM, while Thaci will be deputy PM and Foreign Minister.
Meanwhile, Mustafa expressed his engagement that the coalition agreement between PDK and LDK is in the best interest of the Republic of Kosovo, economic development and the solution of the current problems of the country.
Mustafa said that he was ready to closely collaborate with all MPs, civil society, independent institutions, in order for the governing to be a successful one.
The agreement has also decided about the post of the president of the country, which in 2016, once the term in office of president Jahjaga ends, it will be taken over by the head of PDK, Hashim Thaci.
Based on the agreement secured by IBNA, the division of parliamentary committees will be made on an equal basis.
PDK and LDK also agree for each minister to appoint two vice ministers, one from PDK and one from LDK.
Based on the agreement, the country will be governed based on the government program of PDK and LDK. /ibna/
