The need for dialogue between the State and local communities in order to have a more effective police, stated the deputy minister to the prime minister and government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili at an event held in Ioannina, for the presentation of the restructuring plan and restructuring of the services of the Directorates Police of Ioannina Thesprotia, Arta and Preveza.
“It’s the first time this kind of dialogue opens between the State and local communities in order to create a more effective police, with a human face, that provides more complete services to citizens”, Gerovasili said.
The informative event took place in Ioannina, last Saturday as part of the consultation process among the ministry of interior and administrative reconstruction, the local government and social elements.
“The consolidation of a sense of security”, stressed the government spokesman, “is a common demand of the people, especially of Epirus’ countryside”.
“The government, the police authorities, we are here to listen to the proposals of the local community, so that the planning can proceed, based on the real needs of the citizens”, Olga Gerovasili pointed out.
