President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga received a delegation of the German Bundestag, led by Johannes Selle, who was accompanied by the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Peter Bomeyer.
President Jahjaga praised the visit of the delegation of Bundestag and the constant support of Germany for Kosovo in fulfilling the vision of integration in the European Union.
Jahjaga said that the European agenda enjoys a wide national consensus and support amongst the citizens and communities in Kosovo. The president said that the acceleration of European integration of Kosovo would further encourage reforms, democratic consolidation, economic growth and would send the right signal for all the citizens of Kosovo that the future of the country is in the European Union.
The president briefed the German delegation on the process of talks between Republic of Kosovo and that of Serbia, considering it as the only way for the normalization of relations between the two countries.
The head of the delegation of the German Bundestag, Johaness Selle said that Germany supports Kosovo’s aspiration for EU accession.
He said that the project for a united Europe has been successful and “we want Western Balkan to be part of Europe”. He said that this will be a long journey, but Kosovo has now made important steps forward on this journey.
Speaking on the intensification of economic relations between the two countries, German officials stressed that Kosovo must continue to strengthen the infrastructure of investments in order for more German businesses to arrive to Kosovo.
They said that Kosovo must start and offer modern and practical education which meets the needs of the market and investors. /ibna/
