German Foreign minister, Heiko Maas has visited Skopje today. In a meeting held with his counterpart, Dimitrov, the German minister said that FYROM deserves to be part of the EU and that September 30th referendum is very important for the citizens of this country.
“This decision is in the hands of the citizens. I hope that on September 30th, everyone will use their right of voting, because this is a historic opportunity to put an end to the name dispute and open up the country’s European perspective”, minister Maas said. The German minister also said that the current government showed that it has a vision for the future of the country.
On his part, FYROM’s Foreign minister, Nikola Dimitrov declared that the visit of his German counterpart and German chancellor Angela Merkel is a clear signal for Germany’s support. /ibna/
