In a teleconference with press representatives, general Tod D. Wolters, U.S. Air Force Commander in Europe and Africa, announced that the American Air Force is to send more soldiers to Romania.
Local Hotnews.ro reported what the U.S. general told journalists. “You can expect that the rotational presence with US Air Force troops will continue to increase in Romania as it has in recent years”, adding that he and his American colleagues are ready to get involved in the strengthening and expansion of the Mihail Kogalniceanu military base in Eastern Romania. Not long ago, in the beginning of February 2018, the Romanian Defence minister, Mihai Fifor had asked “for a permanent presence of the American soldiers at the Mihail Kogalniceanu base, following the Polish model, as the Romanian site News.ro had then read.
“The general saluted the enhancement of Romania’s military capabilities”, Romania Insider reports, “through the acquisition of F-16 fighters and Patriot missile systems. He said the US Air Force had a very strong relation with Romania’s Air Force.”… / IBNA
