General Prosecutor Adriatik Llalla discussed in Shkodër the crime situation, focusing in particular on the blood feud phenomenon and the role of institutions in the prevention of the serious crime of blood feud killings.
During the meeting, Mr. Llalla asked from the new head of the Shkodër District Prosecution, Mr. Besnik Cani, who previously headed the Fier District Prosecution Office “greater commitment on the side of the staff not simply by identifying and punishing blood feud killings, as well as a more active role in raising the awareness of the population affected by this phenomenon and encourage abandonment of these criminal actions.”
In addition, Mr. Llalla demanded strengthening of cooperation with the local State Police structures as well as maximal commitment to investigations and evidence collection to help bring perpetrators of such crimes before justice.
The meeting in Shkodër was part of the meetings that the Prosecutor General has held during this week in Mat, Lezhë, Berat and Fier, meetings which have sought to refresh and revitalize the functioning of district prosecution offices. /ibna/
