General Prosecution has made public today the charges pressed against three MPs, by confirming the fact that they will be taken as defendants.
The MPs under investigation are the socialist MPs, Pjerin Ndreu and Arben Ndoka, accused of using violence against the democrat MP, Gent Strazimiri.
Charges have also been pressed against the democrat MP, Astrit Veliaj, accused of illegal construction and destruction of property.
General Prosecution said that the investigation on Ndoka and Ndreu started after the charges pressed on July by the heads of the democrat parliamentary group, Edi Paloka.
The prosecution’s spokeswoman declared that Ndoka and Ndreu have physically attacked their colleagues, Strazimiri. Based on CCTV footage, it was Ndoka the first one to attack Strazimiri and then it was Ndreu.
General Prosecution declares that Strazimiri MP has been attacked as a result of political declarations launched on July 10, 2014.
As far as MP Veliaj’s case is concerned, the investigation has started after a citizen from Fier pressed charges against him.
“A citizen from Fier has denounced Mr. Veliaj because “UFO shpk” has illegally built on her land a four and a six storey building, which acts as a private university under the ownership and administration of Veliaj. Municipality of Fier confirms that it has given no construction permits in this area. This building has also occupied a space under the ownership of the Ministry of Interior. “UFO shpk” has destroyed state buildings in order to construct his building”, reads the prosecution’s statement. /ibna/
